Musically, Modern Times continued with the tendency to classic blues, rockabilly and pre-rock balladry that was started with "Love and Theft", but with very different approaches. The album was Self-produced by Dylan himself, under the pseudonym Jack Frost. It also sparked debate over its uncredited use of choruses and arrangements from older songs, as well as many lyrical lines taken from the work of 19th century poet Henry Timrod. |
